![]() ![]() I have 10 channels deployed on my Roku and 3 of those are Plex Apps. I know people running Plex in countries from Australia to Vietnam to Russia. Plex works everywhere in the world on Rokus. Roku has a whole section of their app store called “the rest of the world” and there are many apps that you can side load with a code as well. You can have friend buy one in areas where they are sold and ship it to you and activate it as a “rest of the world” device on the Roku site. Rokus can easily be used in almost any place in the world if you can get them. I know people in Italy and France that are using them. ![]() They (Roku) may well wish to be sure they do not get hit in that way again.īut I thought that Rokus were available in the EU. ![]() There is also the issue they ran into in Mexico where the government blocked all sales and use for a period of time due to claims that Roku was aiding in piracy and various other copyright infringements. They have been expanding very very slowly into new areas for some time. Also Roku makes a lot of money from advertisers that advertise pretty non intrusively in various ways on their various devices and there may be regulations that they do not wish to jump through sufficient hoops to comply with.Īlso it is just possible that they will, at some time, expand into areas they do not currently have a presence in. Roku’s equivalent of an app store has some very very stiff requirements and that plays a part. ![]()
